“Me and my husband chose to dine at the restaurant for the first time when we had family visiting. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so warming and friendly and really does make you feel like you are in Spain! We noticed the menu had soo many options to choose from and many quite different from what we have seen before. We tasted over 12 tapas dishes and there wasn’t one we didn’t like! We especially liked the king prawns in spicy garlic sauce and the chicken wings however all of it was absolutely delicious! The service was also excellent we will definitely be going back and recommend to our friends and family!”
“One of the most wonderful meals we’ve ever had. This has to be one of the nicest restaurants in the south of England. The outlook is great, atmosphere lovely, very Spanish, nice view of the docks, with superb friendly service and absolutely stunning Spanish food. Superb!”
“Our kids love this place, great menu and great tapas. Service is always excellent and the owner often comes out and chats to the kids about the food and Spain. The paella is awesome and very similar to southern Spanish varieties. Some lovely dishes too that are not often found in England, the octopus bravas for instance. Being a Tapas bar/restaurant this place is also perfect for an ice cold beer in the summer accompanied by a plate of olives, or other basic tapas.”

“I visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening for my best friends birthday. The restaurant had an authentic and cosey decor which was extremely welcoming. We had a large party of 20 people and the majority of us had the suckling pig. This was absolutely mind-blowing. Everyone was taking pictures because it looked wonderful but as soon as they started eating everyone was awestruck. Not only did the pig look amazing, but the taste was also out of this world. The meat was succulent and was falling apart on the fork. The potatoes were cooked in rosemary and salt and were excellent as well!”

We opted for the latter.
Service was a little slow, we waited around 30 minutes for the food to arrive, no doubt due to the volume of diners in the packed restaurant.
We ordered four different tapas from the extensive menu and all were very good. Well presented, a good sized portion for the price, and most importantly all were very tasty.
Many so called Spanish Tapas restaurants in the UK have an assortment of dishes on their menus that bear no relationship to their namesakes in Spain. As far as we could see every dish on La Regata's menu was exactly what we would expect to find in a tapas bar anywhere in Spain.

The place has a lovely feel as soon as you walk in, staff very welcoming, we was shown to our table and given our menus, loads of choices. We decided to go for the tapas, wen it come out it looked and smelled amazing.
The crab and avocado was Absolutely amazing and the goats cheese on toast was another one of my favourite. All the meal tasted fresh and well cooked, my hubby enjoyed the Pork belly especially.
Great atmosphere great and chatty and welcoming staff. Cant wait to come back. Close

The whole sea bream was fresh and delicious, as was the Tarta De Santiago, a Galician almond sponge cake.
The service was good, and the atmosphere on a rainy Wednesday night was cosy.

Read MoreI have wanted to visit this restaurant for a long time and was so happy I managed to book a table for my family and myself. First things first, I loved the look of the restaurant inside! Felt like I was back on holiday in Barcelona or Seville. Despite it being incredibly busy the service was super, with the waiters being very attentive. The first time we asked for the bill, they did forget, but no matter, we understood as the place was full and they apologised.
The food was amazing! We all ate from the tapas menu and enjoyed every dish :) absolutely loved the sangria too!
